Description: RESTORED Vtg GOTT Model-1950 50 Qt. Cooler with Dual 8280 Bottles ~ Red & WhiteCONDITION: Restored with new stainless steel hardware and retaining straps. Extra clean. RESTORATION DETAILS: I personally restored this Gott cooler. It has been completely cleaned in and out and is spotless. All of the screws, other hardware, and retaining strapshave been replaced with brand new, all-stainless-steel parts. Most notably the former plastic retaining straps (which snap & break easily) were replaced with stainless steel braided cable straps for excellent strength and durability. You'll find that the top is heavywhen the water bottles are filled and frozen. The creates stress on plastic straps, and alsoon the mounting screws - eventually the straps will break and/or the screws will pull out. So on this cooler I drilled through the outer shell, into the inner liner. This provides a very solid anchor of the retaining straps. They are now anchored by stainless steel bolts,with stainless washers and wing nuts. The positioning of the straps (now) corrects anotherproblem with these Gott water bottle coolers - when the plastic straps are still in place the cooler has a tendency to tip over backwards. I installed the new braided stainless steelretaining straps with positioning points to prevent that problem from occurring. Also, as youcan see in the photos, the screws for the hinges and that latch are also all-new and stainless steel. The latch closes tightly and securely. These upgrades and modificationsmake this Gott cooler more durable than any other you will find. Originally these coolerscame with a plastic sliding tray that fit at the top near the ice / water bottle packs. Thatwas missing so I replaced it with a new adjustable tray that fits perfectly. MEASUREMENTS: EXTERIOR MEASUREMENTS : Approximately 15" tall x 16 1/2" wide x 25" long. INTERIOR MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 11 1/2" tall x 12 1/2 wide x 19 1/2" long.DRY WEIGHT: 12 pounds, 14 ounces.
