Description: This rare piece of resin artwork was crafted with over 3,500 googly eyes individually glued down and coated with 100 ounces of resin (6 layers total). The googly eyes wrap around the edges as well and are fully functional and shakable. It was inspired by the classic geode resin art, but with an abstract twist. "Googlyode" sits upon a birch wood canvas and has a layer of resin on the backside for additional support. It comes with a pre-installed hanging system, certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, a hand-written note, and a business card. Additional materials include 10 ounces of gold nuggets, 2 ounces of crushed glass, and detailing work with a gold leafing pen. The gold accents give it a warm, sense of nostalgia while the hints of white give off a renewed sense of energy. One of the best things about this piece is that even though all of the googly eyes are encased with resin, you can still hear it rattle when you give the canvas a shake. Aside from the edges where the resin starts to cascade down the sides, the resin finish is smooth and shiny. The gold nuggets and crushed glass add just the right amount of texture, but upon further inspection you'll notice some of the glass is completely submerged as well.
