It Is Very Important To Note The Following Information Before Ordering -You must always fully remove the original handle and cable fully from the furniture to measure accurately.You must follow our measuring guide to establish the correct size cable to order.It's essential that the original cable is measured accurately to ensure a correct match! Not all recliners and cables are the same size.All our cables are 965mm long overall which means end to end.Your original cable overall measurements maybe either shorter or longer than ours of 965mm, this is not important as long as you are able to achieve the same exposed wire length as one of our cables we stock you will find it fits and works perfectly.Our cables do not have springs over the exposed wire length at the hook end as the spring is not required even if you original has a spring. Cables will work just fine without springs.When we mention 'exposed wire length' we are meaning the HOOK end not the Barrel end.Our quoted size of the exposed wire length is always taken when laid flat fully stretched out and not attached to the mechanism or handle.Our quoted cable sizes are always exposed wire lengths including the 'S' hook.When we quote 92mm we are meaning the exposed wire length including the 'S' hook end is 92mm when not installed into the handle or the mechanism.We stock 92mm, 97mm, 110mm, 123mm, 132mm, 140mm, 145mm and 150mm exposed wire lengths only.If you can not find a match to your cable size please contact us via our eBay store for more help.We only stock and supply 6mm diameter steel barrels however note due to manufacturing fluctuations the barrel diameter can be anywhere between 4-6mm. EXAMPLE ORDER:- Your original cable measurements - (this is just an example and your measurements may differ to ours listed here)PVC outer cable (Sheath) including the both clips 815mmInner steel wire 965mm Equals an exposed wire of 150mm You would need to order from our store - 150mm Exposed x 965mm x 6mm HERE ARE THE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO ACHIEVING THE CORRECT SIZE CABLE Step 1, Removing the original handle and cable:- Remove the recliner handle by unscrewing the fixings found behind the latch using a screw driver Pull out the recliner handle and rotate it to expose the cable attachment and unclip the cable from the handle keeping any parts you remove safeNext carefully turn the recliner forward and over to view the underside of the recliner Locate the PVC casing of the cable and pull it out and let it hangLocate the retaining clip situated in the recliner mechanism and using a pair of long nose pliers pinch the clip to remove and finally unhook the 'S' hook end from the release lever arm and remove completely from the recliner Step 2, Measuring the cable:- 1, Pull the inner metal wire completely out of the outer tube (Sheath) & measure the whole wire length including the hook end through to the broken end2, Measure the outer PVC casing (Sheath) including the retaining clip and collar at each end3, Subtract measurement 2 from 1 to give you a size that matches as near as possible to one of our cable sizes4, Note your measurement can be +/- 4mm different to our advertised size & it will still fit5, Place your order through our eBay page NOTE:- If you are not 100% sure of the correct size to order please contact our support team through the eBay page before purchase, we are always happy to answer any questions & help with your purchase from Furniture Spares Direct. Step 3, Order process , Receiving the Cable and Fitment:- Once your order is placed with our store, our team we will process your order at our Queensland warehouse in accordance with the eBay guidelines and dispatched via Australia postOnce you receive the order and checked the contents begin to install the replacement cable as followsConnect the cable into the rear of the handle by first placing the steel barrel into the hole and feed the steel wire through the groove and click the metal collar into the handle guide and if available reconnect the retaining clip over the cable collar to further secure the cable into position (Not all handles have retaining clips)Next feed the hook end of the cable into the arm hole in the recliner directing the cable down towards the floorReattach the handle into the arm hole ad secure with the original screwsCarefully turn over the recliner in the forward position exposing the recliner mechanism Locate the hook end of the wireNext connect the black plastic retaining clip into the available mechanism slot listing for a 'click' sound to confirm connectionThen connect the S hook into the release leaver hole (If more than one hole available on the release lever arm use the hole which provide a snug tension on the exposed wire)Finally turn the recliner back over and test handle for correct operation.
