Description: This auction is for THREE (3) RARE R.E.M. PROMOTIONAL VIDEOTAPES FROM 1988 -- 1993 -- 1995! All are previously unplayed, and the oldest video is even still sealed. In total, there are videos for seven R.E.M. songs. Details on each individual videotape follow below... I used to work at a few radio stations (college and commercial) over the years, and these were collected from those times. 1. I.R.S. 1988 SPRING VIDEO COMPILATION -- This compilation videotape was sent out by I.R.S. Records in 1988. It is STILL SEALED in the original shrinkwrap, and comes housed in a cardboard case with a sticker listing the contents. There is a small tear in the shrinkwrap where the side tab was located (this was punched out by the record company so the tape wouldn't accidentally be taped over). There are ten videos on it, three of which are by R.E.M. Other songs are by The Alarm, Dave Wakeling (of The English Beat), The dB's, The Leather Nun, and The Balancing Act. The R.E.M. songs are "Finest Worksong", "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine), and "The One I Love". All three songs were released on the August, 1987 I.R.S. album "Document". The album gave the band their first top ten hit with the song "The One I Love" (it hit #10). This videotape can be seen in pictures #2 and #3. 2. WARNER BROS. 1993 THREE (3) VIDEO COMPILATION -- This tape comes in an opaque plastic clam-shell case. According to the tape label, this was sent by Warner Bros. Records around 11-18-1993. The tape contains three R.E.M. videos for the songs "Everybody Hurts", "Man On The Moon", and "Night Swimming". All three songs were featured on the fall 1992 release "Automatic For The People". These songs were three of the six singles that the band released from this album. This videotape can be seen in photographs #4 through #6. 3. WARNER BROS. 1995 "TONGUE" VIDEO -- This tape comes in an opaque plastic case, where the tape slides out from the side. According to the tape label, this was sent by Warner Bros. Records around 9-21-1995. The tape contains one song, the video for "Tongue". This song was featured on the fall 1994 album "Monster". "Tongue" was the last of five singles to be released from this album in the summer of 1995. This videotape can be seen in pics #7 through #9. Again...these three tapes are in unplayed condition, with one still sealed. If you have any questions about these items, please feel free to email me. Also, check out my other auctions going on NOW of various other items of interest. Thanks again for looking...during these most very...very...very...troubled times... 3-17-24
