Description: Realistic TRC-221. These were great radios, and still are. Here is the scoop, when I put batteries in it, it started smelling hot and I popped out the batteries right away, they were hot too! Soooo I pooped the back of the of case off cause I had to see… found the battery tray melted on each end (see pics). Also noted missing screws in the PC board (someone has it open before). Lot a good parts, or mayhaps you can repair it! Stopped there and put the back on. Not sure what caused that and if the issue is beyond the battery compartment. Not time to fiddle with it longer.
