Areas of defect when tested: The portable battery will not hold a charge. It works when connected to the charger in 'camera' mode when plugged in. This is how I was able to test the device. Once unplugged, the portable battery no longer works as it should, and the camcorder shuts off only a few seconds after turning it on like the battery is dead. The eject button is not working. It's like it gets caught, so it will not open the compartment for you to place the VHS tape inside. I do not know if it records because of what happens to the tape. The foam part of the microphone has crumbled, as shown. Will not affect functionality.
