Vintage Raylite "SCRAPPY" Christmas Tree Light Set by Columbia Pictures. It is Catalog No. 604A. This set was sold by the Raylite Trading Co., New York, N.Y. It was produced in the 1930's The Raylite Trading Company sold their lighting outfits and Christmas novelty items under the Paramount, Sterling, Wink-A-Lite and Gibraltar names in the 1930-1965 time period. This company was one of the "biggies" in the Christmas lighting industry, and NOMA's largest competitor. They also sold lighting sets in Canada under the Pennant name. This contains 8 Plastic non-flammable durable light covers with different pictures (decals) of different scenes with Scrappy characters. Originally there would have been MAZDA C6 cone shaped bulbs on each of the 8 bakelite sockets inside the cover. Most bulbs are no longer MAZDA's, just ribbed cone bulbs. Silver metal clips are on each socket. The set is in Very Good Condition. It works! There is no damage to any of the covers, and all the decals are intact. There is no damage to the cord. Each cover is held in place by a tab located on the insert. The insert is also in Very Good Condition with slight soiling. The display flap is also in Very Good Condition. The box is in Good Condition, which has damage to the 2 right corners, and has some surface, corner and edge wear. The bottom is soiled and has writing on it. See the pictures. The box measures 16-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 2-1/8". Weight - 14.3 ounces before packing for shipment. Please look at the pictures & please ask questions. I may have missed describing something.
