Description: Late 1940's- 1950's PenRod Co. of New York the "ACE". The rod is a little over 6'3". It has a short butt section that screws into the larger upper section. The cork is in very good condition with some age related ridging and a small section near the butt cap missing. The blank is nice and clean with no scratches etc. Some of the guides have some finish loss from age. The sliding metal bands are in nice condition. According to 1940's literature, the sliding metal bands indicate that this was a rod meant for freshwater fishing. The sock has some storage fraying type wear to it etc but no big hole, rips etc. There is a section in the sock with a long dowel for protection of the rod. I don't believe this rod was ever fished but I can't be sure of it. The prior owner had it on display or stored and I have done the same for the years that I have owned it. All in all a very rare rod. This will ship by USPS Advantage Ground.
