Description: Extremely RARE Shiro Suzuki 1/4 size Violin! Made in Matsumoto, Japan. From what I understand, these were the very first makes of Suzuki violins, before they were made in Nagoya. German made fine tuners! This instrument does have some issues. The seam on the back is cracking (pictured). There is a rub spot on the top by the tailpiece (pictured) where the finish has come off. There is a spot on the top, left side when looking at the top (pictured), where the edge has been broken off to the seam. There are other spots on the top edges where there are rub points. Definitely an old instrument so it has its share of dings and scratches. I don't have a 1/4 size case for this instrument, so the case I have pictured with it is actually a 1/2 size case, which I will ship it in with extra padding to keep it safe. The bow is a 1/4 size Glasser bow. I could only find 3 for sale online, and they ranged between $900-$1900 asking price. Even with fixing this one up, this would be a much better value than those.
