Description: RARE mid-century Red-Man large wicker picnic basket - 18” long x 12.5” wide x 10" tall (9" deep). Has chestnut brown hand-woven sides and bottom, a single-hinged solid wooden lid, two wood handles, all original hardware and Red-Man label. Basket is in good solid shape without warping or bending; the handles and lid have no cracks or splits. Upper wood band on left side is missing a small strip of decorative heavy paper (see last photo). Made by WC Redmon Co from Peru, Indiana, weaving baskets since 1880s. Perfect for summer picnics, seasonal decor, photo shoots and more.
