Description: You are getting 15 pictures and the negatives to accompany them in the original photographers numbered photo packet from that day. Based on the packet number we can date this one precisely to November 11, 1952. Based on what I see in the background I believe this was probably Clearwater Florida but it could’ve been downtown Saint Pete I’m not sure because so many things have changed since then here, but this is definitely Pinellas county The negatives are on Kodak safety film and measure 4 x 5“ with the photos being slightly smaller there are two that measure 4 x 5 and the other ones measure 2.75 x 4.5“ or so. George Fulmer. Photographer for the city of Clearwater for over half a century. Also a Navy enlisted photographer during WW2. After cleaning out the residence & studio in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. We hope to Bring recognition to his life's work as well as to find homes for some parts of the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. Parts of the collection are being held together by the estate for exhibition purposes in the future. Holding a piece from this collection will be rare. Much of the contents from the estate were taken by the historical society before we were asked to go inside. The photographs we hold from this estate, include everything you would've expected a city photographer to have been present for; from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice , but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs, some possibly from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of his war era photographs that we were able to save. The photos that are being offered here, were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. George did a lot of work for the newspapers so you'll see things pertaining to Clearwater Florida, much of it from the early 1950s. Being in the same location next to the Clearwater courthouse for over half a century, he was also entrusted with and gifted many photographs that go back to the late 1800s that were left behind and are currently in our collection. Some of those will be offered here as well. FOLLOW US ON EBAY !!! This is quite a project for only two curators, so please follow us, and be patient as we slowly unveil the contents of this massive estate. And always, if you see something that you like, please make an offer!! Shipping will be by usps ground advantage unless otherwise requested. If you are buying multiple photos, shipping will be combined & you will be refunded the difference after your payments clear overnight.
