Some of these photographs would later be released to The Associated Press for news publication. Offering a rare photo scrapbook of the official, two day, visit to Malaya in October, 1953 by the then Vice-President-Elect Richard M. Nixon and his wife, "Pat". These photographes were taken by Fred Lim, with some images released later to the A.P. (Associated Press) for media publication. The photo prints, about 110 of them, are in a sixty page album, sequentially arranged, and captioned. Most of the prints are about 5"x7", several larger ones, 8.5"x10.5". Every photograph is stamped on the backside showing copyright and credit to the studio. The album mesures approx. 11"x15". Among the most interesting historical personages photographed are the British High Commissioner in Malaya, General Sir Gerald Templar. Other photos include the Sultan of Selangor, the Malayan Head of State, at the reception in the palace. Other photos show places in Kuala Lumpur and rural areas the Nixons visted such as a nursing school, military outposts, and a tin mining operation. Only a hand full of these scrapbooks were ever produced by the photographer. They were given as mementoes to officials who attented Nixon's visit and fuctions. This is an extrordinary archive of an event that few people even know took place. Condition: STUDY ALL IMAGES. Fair to good. Noted aged wear and tear.
