Description: RARE Pair of Antique 3" Bridal/Wedding Cake Top Kewpie Dolls DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....rare pair of antique 3" Bride & Groom Kewpie dolls. Hair is part of body. Arms are separate and move. Girl is nicely dressed in fabric dress with veil; boy is wearing black paper suit with tails. Both were made with a "pedistal" instead of legs, to then stand on thin round board disks. His is still there, hers is missing. In good shape for such old, fragile things, but you can get the best idea of the details from my scans. Nice aged appearance, but no chips or damage that I can see. These are a great pair for an antique or period collection. Particularly scarce as the bridal pair. Can picture the young couple and their wedding reception so long ago!! This pair would also be a great and special part of a modern wedding, whether on the cake or as other special decoration. THIS COULD BE THE SOMETHING OLD FOR SOMEONE"s MODERN WEDDING CEREMONY!!! These are nice as 2 Kewpies, and even nicer as an early wedding decoration pair. I don't believe that these are any newer than 1930 or so, probably earlier.
