Description: Ashburnham is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts with a population of 6,315 in 2020. It was first settled by Europeans in 1736 and was officially incorporated in 1765. Ashburnham was originally made up of the lands granted to officers and soldiers of a 1690 expedition to Canada. It was called “Plantation of Dorchester-Canada” until it was incorporated. The Upper & Lower Naukeag is one of the five lakes that are in the western part of the town. They all feed into the headwaters of the Millers River which flows westward towards the Connecticut River. The Lake and the road around the lake are both on this UDB postmarked 1906 . The card was published by “G.L. Minott, Gardner Mass” and is in good condition for its age. The upper right corner has a small bend with some wear on the others. There are wrinkles across the surface, but you have to look hard to see them and there is also a small tear on the upper left edge which is tape on the reverse which is otherwise clean. The image is clean and clear, and the card is generally presentable. The caption reads “Lake Road and Naukeag Lake, Ashburnham Mass” The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible.
