GARFIELD, AND WILLIAM MCKINLEY Features portraits of Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, and William McKinley containing their facsimile signatures and their birth and death dates. In the center, is a young remorseful lady holding a flag pole extended from a Union shield while the flag drapes down over McKinley’s portrait with the text below reading “Nearer, My God, to Thee.” PRINTED BY EDWARDS, DEUTSCH, AND HEITMANN IN CHICAGO ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1901, THE DAY OF WILLIAM MCKINLEY’S FUNERAL IN WASHINGTON, DC We were unable to locate any other similar broadsides available for sale at auction in the past 25 years. The broadside measures 22.25” by 15.5”, nicely framed to an overall size of 28.5” by 21.5”, and in very good condition with toning, foxing, and tearing along the top border.
