Description: A rare 80-year-old almost-empty bottle of La Premiere perfume and the original de Heriot presentation box! An eighth inch of liquid fragrance remains.The scent is a sensual rose and citrus blend with sandalwood for spice. Circa mid-l940's. Harriette Hessin founded "Parfums de Heriot in 1935, in Hollywood, CA and sold her fragrance line at finer department stores. She marketed the fragrances with a "Hollywood Stars" cachet and labeled the boxes “De Heriot, Hollywood, Calif." The company name is spelled differently from the box to the bottle: deheriot" and "de Heriot". Different fragrances were sold in similar bottles-See Photo # 9- Altman's Dept. store ad. The White Lace perfume is in the same bottle as La Premiere. PRESENTATION BOX: DETAILS:The rectangular cardboard box measures 3 3/4 inches H x 2 inches Square and is fair condition. Covered in light gold paper, 4-light pink panels are set into each side. The box-top is decorated with a small light pink velvet velour flower with a yellow center. Flaws: The front panel is not-centered. All panels and the flower have light stains from handling and age. The edges of the boxtop are frayed and worn. The box tag is gone but the string remains. The box's interior is stained from a perfume spill- See Photo #7. The gold paper on the cardboard dais/well is dinged-See Photo #9. PERFUME BOTTLE: DETAILS: A streamline art-deco glass bottle with an elegant cut-glass hexagonal stopper. The bottle with stopper measures 3 3/8 inches H x 5/8 inch W and are in good condition. No chips or scratches. The stopper is firmly set into the bottle’s mouth and has no give.The label is a transparent plastic sticker and features: a pink flower graphic with "La Premiere" and "de Heriot" printed in pink lettering-See Photo #3.The cording around the base of the bottle's neck remains and is sealed with wax-See Photo #10. The manufacturer's label is a transparent glued sticker at the bottle's base. "Net cont. 1/2 oz. Distributed by De Heriot, Inc. Hollywood"- See Photo #10.This is a perfume treasure.
