Description: RARE JULES JURGENSEN COPENHAGEN 18K GOLD POCKET WATCH 12535 FULL HUNTER CASE This is an elegant full hunting case precision pocket watch by the important Danish watchmaker Jules Jürgensen from Copenhagen in 1867. Movement No. 12535, diameter 42mmTotal weight is 70.8 grams.Very nice 18k gold case, numbered and signed gold dome, case maker's punch mark "JJ". The case has only tiny traces of age and use and is very well preserved.The back side of the case has a small dent that barely visible.The clean movement is working very well. Over all this rare and beautiful watch is in a very good state of preservation. Jules Juergensen (1808-1877). He was born in Le Locle 1808 as son of the watchmaker Urban Jürgensen (grandson of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet). In Copenhagen Jurgensen received his training in the watchmaking business of his family and in addition studied mathematics, astronomy and foreign languages. Shortly after the death of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet, Juergensen went to Switzerland and opened a watch manufactory in Le Locle. His precision watches gained worldwide recognition.
