Description: Rare antique Wedgwood redware rosso antico pitcher with Victorian Registration mark dating it to nov/Dec 1853 (K= Nov/dec, Y=1853). Unglazed exterior: glazed interior. This was a return to classical form mimicking antique Roman redware. It is in very good condition for its age: no damage but some scuffs around lower section and dirt on the handle and inside. Beautifully elegant for its simplicity. Notice the handle attaches at the ribbing round the neck and the lower section is smoothed out. This is a great piece of history. 6 1/4" tall x 5 1/2" at widest.
