Description: This is an extremely rare, circa 1909, oyster bowl / plate made by Minton especially for Tiffany and Co. New York.Beautiful sunburst gold encrusted trim. This is not a common shape for an oyster "plate", but Tiffany also commissioned Lenox to make at least 2 different patterns with this same shape that were designated as being "oyster plates".Not flat like the traditional oyster plate, but has 6 indentations to accommodate oysters.I was not able to find a similar example from Minton in this shape so it must be quite rare. I did find a number of dinnerware pieces in this same pattern H1032 by Minton also for Tiffany. Apparently they did not make it for general sale.Perfect condition with no cracks or chips. Each piece is 8-1/2 inches in diameter and about 1-3/4 inches deep.Double boxed for secure shipping
