Two years later the magazine moved to New York City. "Story" magazine was devoted to the complex and diverse world of narrative. Each issue focused on a single item. "Story" not only published fiction and nonfiction, but also innovative human stories in any shape or form, and from as diverse a population as possible. Between 1934 and 1946, 25 "Story" writers won 27 O. Henry Awards, including Irwin Shaw and Mary O'Hara. Due to lack of funds, "Story" folded in 1967. However, the magazine was revived in 1989 by the Rosenthals as a quarterly, fulfilling a promise made to Burnett that they would re-launch the magazine some day. However, "Story" came to its final end with the Winter 2000 issue. This discontinued and out-of-print set is a rare find. Condition: This scarce magazine set is in good to very good condition. There is some wear on the softcovers (see pictures). The inside pages are in very good condition with no tears, no creasing, no writing, no bent corners, and no loose or missing pages.
