Between 1977 and his transfer in 1989, he brought Mazda more than 29 manufacturers championships in IMSA and SCCA competition. He was also a great friend of Connie & Jim Downing. Barnett’s contribution to the Mazda racing history is covered in Connie Downing’s book “Mazda Motorsports 20 Victorious Years in America”.
