Description: This is a rare and authentic Gulf Oil Gulftane porcelain on metal pump plate from the 1960s. The plate measures 11.25 inches by 8.5 inches and features vibrant multi-color branding. It is a highly collectible item for those interested in gas and oil advertising memorabilia. The plate is an original piece, not a reproduction, and was manufactured in the United States. The plate has not been modified and is in excellent condition with slight rust and chips around screw holes - see pics.Sign is tapered from top 11.25", to bottom 10.25", and has a slight curve to mount to a gas pump.Weighs 10 ounces. Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from 1901 until March 15, 1985.[3] The eighth-largest American manufacturing company in 1941 and the ninth-largest in 1979, Gulf Oil was one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies.
