Description: This rare vintage Royal Copenhagen porcelain figurine, piece #1736, is of a mythical faun playing flute pipes. The original figure was sculpted in 1915 by Christian Thomsen for Danish company Royal Copenhagen to produce. Thomsen worked for the company from 1898 to 1920. According to dating codes, this particular figurine was made in 1948. Production of this piece was discontinue in 1981. It was pre-owned and very well kept. There are no scratches, chips, or missing pieces. It measures 5 1/2 inches tall and is 5 inches wide. A fine old piece like this is hard to come by.
