Description: Rare 1896 10C PR67 OH NGC CAC Old Holder Fatty Undergraded Barber Dime Proof Up for offer by Paradime Coins dot com (look us up) for more coin’s sales, discounts or questions feel free to reach out to info at paradimecoins dot com Originating from a mintage of just 762 issues, this example of the Barber Dime series is a PQ example. It is an uber impressive piece delivering captivating eye appeal and is seldom found in such qualities. The 1896 is known to be one of the tougher dates for this series in proof, but beyond that this coin is absolutely unique in its both toning and contrast. The obverse is fully DCAM with strong contrast nearly black to white with still toning. The reverse speaks otherwise as it seems to have been touching or stored in an envelope which validates for the lovely toned layer of film that would display reflective fields if dipped. Beyond our opinion on the designations, this piece is decorated with highly original and attractive toning that is also mark-free. The obverse exhibit olive green, pine green, cerulean blue, marigold yellow, and coral red colors while the reverse display amber yellow, naples yellow, sky blue, and blue fire colors. Encased in a NGC Fatty Soap Box holder with the hologram on the reverse fully intact, most would agree that this would grade higher in todays standard and in our opinion a PR67+. With an NGC Pop of 16 and none finer, this piece has the green bean sticker which has a Pop of only 3 and none finer. There no comp and CAC sale for an NGC recorded while a PCGS CAC sold for $6,169 08/17 HA, which lacked toning, similar quality nor was housed in an old holder. This coin can also be acquired directly from us on our s ite for $ 6,000 Rare 1896 10C PR67 OH NGC CAC Old Holder Fatty Undergraded Barber Dime Proof Up for offer by Paradime Coins dot com (look us up) for more coin’s sales, discounts or questions feel free to reach out to info at paradimecoins dot com Originating from a mintage of just 762 issues, this example of the Barber Dime series is a PQ example.
