Description: This 1972 vintage Raleigh Professional Track Bike was just a super clean frame and fork when it appeared at the San Diego Velodrome swat meet some 22 years ago. I built it up as you see it and it has been displayed in my bike museum for the past 20 years. I am ready to turn over this Raleigh to a new owner. This very original and super clean bike has always had a Campagnolo track group from the early 1970s. It is a 23" size frame. This equates to a 58.5 cm seat tube (c-t) length or 57 cm (c-c). The stand-over height is 32.5". Top tube measures 57 cm (c-c). The Campagnolo large flange 36 hole track hubs are built into Fiamme red label track tubular rims. The DT 15 gauge stainless steel spokes are laced 3 cross and have been tied and soldered making the track wheels super stiff. The Campagnolo track crankset has 165 mm crank arms and has no date stamp on either arm. A 47 tooth Campagnolo track chain ring has 1/8" teeth not the thinner 3/32" road bike teeth. The Campagnolo SL track pedals are in exceptional condition. The rear 1/8" x 17 tooth track cog is not Campagnolo and is generic. A Specialized 100 cm road stem holds a chromed steel Nitto B123 40 cm NJS stamped track handlebar. I will include either white or black padded vinyl bar tape for you to wrap the bar as you see fit. The tires are not glued and should be replaced.
