Choose prints or solids in multiple values of one color or be bold and use multiple colors. A coloring diagram is included to help you choose. Pattern includes tips and guidance on sewing with bias edges. FABRIC: The Maple Island collection of batiks was designed by Kathy Engle for Island Batiks. The color palette includes beautiful shades of blue, green and teal, and the collections features natural foliage and tree elements such as pinecones, sprigs and leaves to name a few. 100% cotton batik fabric. Machine wash cold water, delicate dry cycle, cool iron. Batik fabrics made in Indonesia. The kit contains a purchased copy of the Leading Edge pattern/instructions designed by Canuck Quilter Designs along with enough batik fabrics to complete the throw quilt as shown in picture 1. This kit contains all fabrics required for the top of the quilt and edge binding. Backing and batting will need to be purchased separately. The overall finished size of this quilt is 59-1/4" x 72-1/2". Printed fabrics in this kit are from Maple Island batik collection designed by Kathy Engle for Island Batiks. Pictures 3 thru 9 show the pattern and all fabrics included in the kit. There are no substitutions in this kit. Skill Level: Confident Beginner The pattern recommends 4 yards of fabric for the backing assuming a 44/45" width fabric along with an 68" x 80" piece of batting. Additional fabric could be needed if using a directional print or fabric design matching. Backing fabric and batting are NOT included in this kit. A little over 6-1/2 yards of fabric is included with the kit along with the pattern.
