Description: This is a very unique 1 gallon tin can. It is made of a heavy gauge tin with a soldered bail. It measures 7” diameter and 9” tall. It weighs a little over 1-1/2 pounds. The most unique thing about it is the heavy gauge lid. It has a 1-1/2” lip that slides over the top. Another unique thing about this can is its condition. It has never been painted or labeled, and it’s near pristine condition. Since the can wasn’t painted nor labeled, and it was not made to be sealed with a friction lid (like a paint can) or a welded lid (like a can of beans), I don’t know what its purpose was. It almost looks like a canister can, and based on how pristine the inside is, maybe that’s what it was used for. Or maybe it is new old stock. You decide for yourself what it was intended to be. Either was it is an extraordinary vintage tin can with a really nice patina. Please look at all of the pictures.
