Description: This listing is for an early 20th century German porcelain chocolate or tea pot by L.D.B Co Prince Regent. The chocolate pot measures 9 1/2 inches high to the finial on the cover and is 7 1/2 inches wide from handle to spout. The pot has a high round foot which supports the oval shaped body. It has an elegant arching handle on the side of the pot and on the finial on the cover at well. It is decorated with a large bouquet of roses on the front and back and surrounded with lush green foliage. The cover has a molded design and is accented with heavy applied gold throughout the piece. It is marked on verso "LDB CO PRINCE REGENT CHINA GERMANY" in a red circle surmounted with a crown, along with "BAVARIA" in green. The chocolate pot and cover are in very condition, with only minor rubbing to the gold on the handle. This mark dates from 1910 onwards and is one of the marks of a company called the Moschendorf Porcelain Company ('Porzellanfabrik Moschendorf A.G.) from Bavaria, Germany. They used the 'L.D.B.Co. Prince Regent' pottery mark as a special export mark for wares made for the Flambeau China Co, a French company based in Limoges. The chocolate pot and cover are in very condition, with only minor rubbing to the gold on the handle.
