Description: 1 Hand Selected Premium Ipe Stave - Ipe is an amazing bow wood, most widely known for Bamoboo Ipe bows but this makes a great bow with most backing materials. Ipe is an extremely dense and very strong jungle wood, that is air dried and ends sealed. It is naturally water resistant and rot resistant as well. These pieces are 6 ft long by 1.75" wide 3/4" thick and suitable for all draw weights (within reason, Ive never made one more than 75/80#lb range but even at those weights a significant amount of material has to be removed) I take my time at the local lumberyard and search for certain grain, dust color, sound of the wood and make sure each piece is suitable for making a high quality handmade bow.
