This auction is for a Precious Moments porcelain bisque figurine by Enesco. It is Item #E-0530 entitled ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow.’ Copyrighted in 1983, Jonathan & David and made in Taiwan. An adorable blonde-haired girl sporting multiple polka dotted bows, wearing a floor length dress and oversized sash is holding a small bird in her hand. Standing in the grass, she is carefully preparing to place a fallen bird back into a nest with its sibling. The figurine measures a little under 5 ½” high x 4 ½” wide x 3” deep, weighing 9 ounces unpackaged. Card is included. Precious Moments founding artist Samuel J. Butcher’s artwork has always been inspired by faith, family, and friends. His soulful illustrations of children with teardrop-shaped eyes were first featured on popular greeting cards. When Mr. Butcher saw the first sample of a Precious Moments figurine more than 40 years ago he was awestruck.
