Description: In the 90's, I was owner of a store in Tahoe City, California. A manwho frequented our store, Brad, traded Mayan artifacts he had foundfor toys, that he would take to Chichicastenango, Guatemala, wherehe had a small hotel. He gave the toys, RC cars and such, to hisnative friends. I sold the jade figurines and carved heads long ago. This is my last piece from him. The certificate of authenticity, which I will write, will contain his full name. He was part of a NationalGeographic expedition in the 1980's, and the smaller things he wasallowed to keep. The amazing thing about jade is that it was the hardest thing they had.all of their jade carvings were produced by rubbing with other piecesof jade. Imagine the hours of painstaking work. This piece dates from probably AD 600 to 900. It weighs a little over 4 ounces, is 3 inches long, and nearly an inch thick in the middle. In a good light, you can see the greenin the black. Shipping weight 1 pound, USPS Ground Advantage, in the USA. I prefernot to ship internationally. Celebrating 25 years of Selling On ebay.
