Portraits of Liberty Seated Half Dime 1856 Silver Coin 1981 Freedom Post Stamp

Description: The card on which the half dime and stamp are mounted measures 7 inches by 5 inches. You will receive the card with the half dime and stamp in a protective plastic sleeve. This Seated Liberty Half Dime was minted in 1856. It is worn but I believe it has no mint mark, although because of the wear, I do not know that for sure. Regarding the 12-cent Stamp, the front of the card reads: This stamp was issued April 8, 1981, in Dallas, Texas. It features the Statue of Liberty’s flaming torch. The back side of the card reads: “The image of ‘Liberty’ was once a standard feature on United States coins, and for a period of more than 50 years in the 19th century most silver coins displayed Christian Gorbrecht’s ‘Seated Liberty’ design. The most unusual of the ‘Seated Liberty’ coins is the Silver Half Dime. The Half Dime denomination was one of the first coins struck at the United States Mint, but it was last minted in 1873—just a few years after the 5c Nickel appeared. The obverse of the Silver Half Dime features Lady Liberty seated on a rock and holding a Union shield. A scroll across the shield reads ‘Liberty.’ In her left hand, Liberty holds a staff with a Phrygian slave’s cap—a symbol of freedom." Specifications: Date of Issue: 1837-1873 Weight: 1.34 Grams Diameter: 15.5 mm Composition: .900 Silver This coin and stamp come with a Certificate of Authenticity from The Morgan Mint that reads: “This guarantees that the coins in contained your collection are legal tender struck by the U.S. Mint. Also included are mint condition postage stamps officially issued by the United States Postal Service. There are no returns on coins. Please get your questions asked before you buy. I'm happy to help in any way. Thanks! IMPORTANT INFO - PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY: Item Descriptions: All items I list as vintage, antique and/or collectible have had previous lives and show wear appropriate to their age, some more than others. Most items come from my family estates. In most cases, I leave the cleaning and polishing, or not, up to the buyer. Please read item descriptions carefully before you bid and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Shipping: I am happy to combine shipping whenever possible. And please retain the damaged item and the packaging as long as necessary. Some carriers require the physical proof instead of photos. If I do not insure the item through the carrier, I will personally provide a full refund, including shipping costs. If I have insured the item, I will provide to you information regarding collecting insurance. Payments: Payment is due within 3 days of the end of the auction or at the time of purchase if you are using the Buy it Now option. Your item will ship within 1-2 business days of cleared payment.
