Description: This is a 12-13" tall porcelain reproduction of the famed L.N. Fowler phrenology bust. It is used, but in new condition (no chips, cracks, etc). The bust represents specific portions of the brain that Fowler thought controlled aspects of human behavior and mental processes, reflecting the state of understanding in the early to mid-1800s. I bought it perhaps 30 years ago and used it frequently in my classes (as a "show & tell", not heavily handled). Its crackled finish gives it a distinctive antique appearance. The labeled regions/labels also have an aged, antique appearance (slightly faded/worn), but are clearly legible.
