The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian contains an entry for Nebula Stone, but not one for Kambaba Jasper. What is sold in some places as Kambaba Jasper looks quite similar to Nebula Stone, except that it contains a lot more green material. Internet sources have stated that Kambaba Jasper is a sedimentary stone composed of fossilized algae, and that this differs from the composition of Nebula Stone. Where it may be found, the hardness rating of both stones is the same. Mindat.org denies the existence of Kambaba Jasper, stating that it is not a jasper or a stromatolite (or algae fossilization), and that it is a volcanic rhyolite, which is what Nebula Stone is described as in The Book of Stones. It is said to be an igneous stone composed of quartz, anorthoclase, riebeckite, and aegirine. The analysis cited by Mindat.org adds albite to the combination of minerals. So, make of that what you will. Having said all of that... I'm so happy to have found some more Nebula Stone to make pendants with and have them available to you!
