Description: This is one of my favorite guitars in my collection (inventory of 125-guitars). Unfortunately, Cozart, the violin company that made this guitar may have been closed now for a couple of years. They made instruments in China distributed out of the mid West, Chicago I believe. I bought 4-different models from them and each one is top notch for the money. Trini Lopez was a famous singer songwriter from the late 60s early 70s and this is his signature 335 style guitar. What’s unique about his model is:1) The 6-inline headstock common to Fender guitars (definitely not common on 335 models)2) The Diamond shaped slots (D-Slots) vs the traditional F-Slots and3) The hollow body style tailpiece, not to mention4) The non traditional color, plenum blue. I have gone above and beyond Cozart’s custom handmade design and implemented my own improvements by:1) Replacing the string trees beyond Fender’s style, and2) Adding rosewood within the hollow body tailpiece (ripe for engraving the owners name or the owners name for the guitar)3) By adding the addition of an AllParts long version tortoise shell elevated pick guard, and4) Replacing the pot knobs (and adding indicator washers) with those which blend much better with the overall colors of the instrument5) But by far the most revolutionary change I did is adding the Ibanez Jack control plate! Where I have also moved the toggle switch. By adding the control plate 2 of the 6 electronic devices are much easier to get at should issues arise and the additional openings under the control plate make it much easier to gain access to the 4-pots should they need attention. Anyone who’s had to deal with the wiring harness of a traditional 335 can surely appreciate this improvement. Not to mention how the control plate provides a perfect means to plug in without worrying of affecting the beautiful finish of the guitar. I will include a new Gator hard shell case. This blues/Jazz/Rock model guitar is strung up with nickel 12s, but I am willing to restring it with flat wounds or any other gauge strings desired by the purchaser. Also, if you’re interested in a Greasy Groove pick guard from those pictured, I will make the swap happen for an additional $20.
