Description: Planting the Wilderness; The Pioneer Boys. A Story of Frontier Life. Part of The Frontier Series.James D. McCabe Jr.1869 / 1870 I purchased this, and many other hardcover antique books, a few years ago as part of my personal antique book collection. I tried to find first editions or first year of printing for each book, however I am not an expert or professional on the subject. I would argue the condition of each book is overall good or better (or worse if specifically mentioned of course). These are old pieces of literature, in used condition, but have survived over 100+ years, which is their appeal to me. They are not perfect and may have penciled inscriptions on the inside page, water damage, loose bindings, torn pages, worn edges and corners, fading/discoloration, or other "imperfections". To my knowledge, however, I do not believe any pages are missing (again, not an expert, but I believe they are complete). I hope your interest in these books is as great as mine is; they are pieces of history and deserve to be treated well. I always kept my books well stored, behind a closed bookcase, away from any hazards. If you are wishing to add to an antique book collection, or wish for some old style home décor, I encourage you take a look at the books I have to offer. Most of the subjects of the books I have to offer are of American history, world history, politics, religion, and some miscellaneous. If you are interested the subject of a book of interest just message me and I can send additional photos of the Table of Contents. If you need dimensions of the book, I can easily provide those upon request. Several of the books I have to offer are from an author by the name of James D. McCabe (some titles include Dabney for the D., J.D. McCabe, Jas. D. McCabe, or refer to him as Jr.). He was a soldier for the southern Confederate forces during the American Civil War, turned political and historical writer and commentator, and published a multitude of works focusing on American history, world history, politics, and other relative topics to the 19th century. Most, if not all, of his works I have for sale are illustrated pieces, with an abundance of pictorial media in each book. The amount of work and effort that went into each book in regards to text, illustrations, hardcover binding, and overall presentation is impressive. If you are curious as to why I am selling: my family is interested in moving soon, and instead of transporting the books to a new home I would rather offer them to someone else. I am also currently limited on bookshelf space as my collection grows, so I figured now was a good time to make a decision regarding selling. Shipping to the continental United States only, via USPS, with no returns. Please bid with the utmost confidence, and please do not hesitate to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have. I will ship the books as best as I can to ensure its safe arrival. If you have interest in multiple items in my store please feel free to message me (either before purchasing or before I mark the item as shipped) and we can try to bundle some prices and/or shipping. If you wish to make a specific offer or contact me about price on an item prior to making an official bid, I encourage you message me as well. I greatly appreciate your time, and I hope you have a fantastic day! jlem752
