Description: From John Stanley Antique Tools - If you have been following our listings you may recall quite some years ago we purchased the contents of a very early cobbler / shoemaker shop. This is one item that we chose to add to our own personal collection. It is now time to let this go and find a new home that will enjoy it as much as we have. We have never seen another like this nor could we find any information on the patentee or the patent date. As shown, this very unique cobblers shoe last is marked A. BAILEYS PATENT JULY 1856. We could not get the thumb screw that would allow this to pivot to turn. Not wanting to force it we left it as it was. Mounted on a custom made birds eye maple base. Super rare, this unique item belongs in the collection of an advanced collector or museum. Mounted on the base this has an overall length of 14" x 6" wide and stands 12 3/4" high. If you are in search of an item with 'eye appeal' for your collection or you just have an appreciation for nice early tools this is one you do not want to miss. Sorry, no combined shipping with this item. While here why not visit our ebay store where we have hundreds of items listed. Enter key words in the search bar to find certain items or browse by store category. You may be surprised at what we have listed. Be sure to add us to your favorites list!
