This is an amazing pair of antique epergnes -- ornately decorated with Gothic-like carvings & hanging chains. The round base of each epergne is decorated with carved shield-like images & is elevated on 3 carved oval feet. The frame ascends to hold a circular opening onto which can be set a crystal dish/bowl. Gargoyle heads/faces adorn each frame. A trio of silver chains gracefully hang from the top of each epergne to give them a lissome & fluid appearance. We have created small delicate bouquets in each bowl from our white hydrangeas & sky blue plumbagoes to show how simply & easily they come alive. We have placed them on each side of a larger single silver plate epergne centerpiece to elongate our table. This is an incredibly special pair of unusual epergnes. They are in excellent antique condition. The cut crystal bowls are also in excellent antique condition -- without any repairs or issues.
