B., Sowerby, I., 1829 EX COLLECTION: Lee & Leveta Hodges (may or may not have original labelling) SPECIMEN SIZE: 4.00 x 2.75 in. approx. / ~ 100 mm SPECIMEN NUMBER: SBA10203020 DESCRIPTION: Dark reddish-brown exterior with a pale brown-white stripe around the shoulder, knobs and whorls and crown look good generally sound, small eruption on the surface about a half inch across (see photos). Interior is a slightly pearlescent, creamy yellow pink. A lovely specimen. Specimen from a private collection, then bought for display and sale in a retail store (unsold stock). CONDITION: Some natural irregularities and wear along the outside of the shell. An attractive example. LISTING NOTE: This shell was either originally purchased from legal dealers, or legally collected in or before the 1980s, prior to the enactment of protection rules, based upon internal evidence in the collection.
