Description: This was framed (see my last picture) but the glass was broken so I took it out. I don’t see any markings on it. It seems to be an early edition. It is 26” x 20” without the mat. With the mat 30” x 24” Please check my pictures and ask any questions. I was told this is a rare piece but I don’t know - any information is appreciated. Thank you I will ship it flat. Pick up is also an option. This is an extraordinary Pablo Picasso cubist work titled "Weeping Woman", after the original drawing done in 1937. The Weeping Woman is a series of works depicting Dora Maar, Picasso's mistress and muse. The Weeping Woman paintings were produced by Picasso in response to the bombing of Guernica in the Spanish Civil War and are closely associated with the iconography in his painting Guernica. Picasso was intrigued with the subject of the weeping woman, and revisited the theme numerous times that year. The last version of the oil painting, created on 26 October 1937, was the most elaborate of the series, and has been housed in the collection of the Tate Modern in London since 1987.
