Description: From John Stanley Antique Tools - Offered for the discriminating collector. This listing is for a NOS vintage Maine river drivers hooked pick pole or pike pole. Socket type with hook. Measures 8 1/2 feet long. As shown in the photos this has a twisted end. The twisted end helped hold this in the log. Once this had been stuck into a log it required a one quarter turn of the pick pole, counter - clockwise to release it. This is the only logging pike pole we have ever had with the original label. Also, this is only the second P-V label we have ever seen with this color scheme in our 40 years of buying and selling antique tools. The other label was on a cant dog we sold 10+ years ago. Because there is no zip code printed on the label, we are guessing that this is pre - 1964. Sure, the price is high, but when is the last time you saw another one??
