Description: New Oxford Annotated Bible NRSV New Revised Standard Version Genuine Leather Berkshire 9914 This is a beautiful and rare 1st edition of the New Oxford Annotated Bible, an academic standard for Study Bibles. There are a few, small imperfections in the gilding as seen in the pictures, but the gilding is in overall unused and wonderful condition and I found no writing at all. I appears to have been use very little, if at all. Many pages still “stick,” so they weren’t turned at all. The first editions had the finest paper quality and leather (either pigskin or Berkshire). If I didn’t have a burgundy one, I’d never part with this. The binding is thick, beautiful, and smooth. It does have an odd discoloration to the cover that makes me assume something was spilt on it. It has some minor abrasions to the front cover. It was stored upright for a short period of time that gave it a very slight sag in the text block and a slight crumpled bottom leather edge. All considered, it’s in fantastic shape for a Protestant canon (more difficult to find) and the best edition with the best paper and a find binding.
