Description: What you are buying:Owens, Charles The Two Quartets Discovery DS 787* Media Condition: E+ (Excellent Plus) = Very little if any surface noise in spots. Many E+ records could play out as essentially new. Often will have surface scratches upon closer inspection. Should be suitable for most. Background The vinyl listings on my eBay store The Vinyl and Collectible Shop are from my late husband's business stock inventory that was around 80,000 records (separate from his world-renown personal collection of 20,000+ originals). At present, what's for sale are about 20-30,000 fantastic condition business stock vinyl. My husband had been seriously collecting jazz instrumental and jazz vocal LPs since the 1950s. He was a radio jazz DJ for 40+ years as well as a jazz promoter. He has contributed to many jazz discographies and other jazz publications as well as radio, movies, and television. He was the recipient of several jazz awards. Also, he was the representative of the famous jazz artist David Stone Martin. The records that will be listed are only a fraction of the greater collection that includes rare and out of print jazz Lps and highly sought collectible jazz literature and artwork to collectors and institutes worldwide. The grading system is slightly DIFFERENT from Goldmine's standard, so please read the grading key below. Years ago these were all visually and many (I can't promise all), were play graded. Before listing, I give another visual grade under proper lighting, but I did not play grade since it likely was already done. To avoid grading conflicts I typically will list one grade lower, when in question, than what was originally graded. This will result oftentimes E+ that may actually be an N- OR an E that is closer to an E+ OR an E- than is closer to an E. Lots of great value!! ReturnsI accept returns, with the buyer's responsibility to cover return shipping costs. I do expect any returns to be as carefully package as it came to you. Media grading is obviously contentious and can be subject to individuals' standards and opinions to an extent. If you don't agree with my media grading, simply send me a direct message and I will send you a full refund once the record has been returned. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I would much prefer happy and loyal customers that can buy with confidence. Shipping Notes:USPS Tracking Notice: Many parcels may not receive any tracking updates until they are delivered. Grading Code and Abbreviation Key(*) denotes stereo(es) denotes fake stereo-electronically reprocessed FS Factory Sealed NM Record has never been played. Often, a sealed lp (e.g. Blue Note, Prestige) is opened to check label designation N The record may be unplayed or has been played with great care. There may be limited and hairline marks visible under light and very close inspection. If there are multiple hairline marks, I typically will list them as N- There should not be any playback issues. N- Very light hairline marks can be seen upon close inspection. There may be minor signs of the record being taken in and out of the inner sleeve, or tiny signs of use generally. Imperfections will NOT affect playback. E+ Very little if any surface noise in spots. Many E+ records could play out as essentially new. Often will have surface scratches upon closer inspection. Should be suitable for most. E Slight overall surface noise typical of much older used LPs (should not be a record that is loaded with pops & tics. Should NOT have any scratches that could be felt, however, surface scratches are likely to present). High filters on many stereos could remove the slight overall noise. Will have some light scratches, or may have numerous hairline scratches and/or surface scuffs. E records overall should play fine without much if any disruption. E- Surface and background noise below music level but the record is noisy. Will have scratches. Scratches on E- graded records will typically be slightly more significant than hairline, but should NOT have deep scratches. Most marks will still be surface but will be longer and/or more will be present than a record graded E or E+ Very rarely I will sell G or F unless it's a very rare and sought-after record that is still desirable even in the following media conditions. G Record worn, playable, noise level close to or equal to music level F Record very worn, music level same or less than the noise level.sl slit in cover (usually small)cc corner cut hp hole punchgf gate fold coverDG deep groove p promo, DJ, etc wobc writing on back cover woc writing on front coverwocs writing on front back covers Blue blue label i.e. PrestigeYL yellow & black label re-PrestigeTPL trumpeter logo re Verve Orange Original Impulse!Drummer original EmArcy label BGP Bill Grauer Presents: eg.
