Description: Description Ovation caused a sensation in the 1980s and 1990s with its groundbreaking design and solid electric acoustic sound. The Super Adamas, which began production in 1976, had an innovative specification that overturned the conventional wisdom of acoustic guitars, with a carbon graphite top, and reigned as the top model of the Ovation brand. Many musicians who were active in the 1980s and 1990s loved this Super Adamas. This time we have a change-up version of the Adamas, the W681TA, a completely acoustic guitar without a pickup. Looking at the price list at the time, it's an ultra-rare model that was probably only made for about a year! Carbon graphite top, lyrecord back, mahogany/maple/ebony 5-piece neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, actual measurement 43mm nut, 25.25-inch scale deep bowl body. The binding is simple with no engraving and a clean design. It doesn't show up very well in the picture, but the top is studded with gold glitter like the early Super Adamas, making it a simple yet luxurious-looking raw Adamas! The raw sound is a bouncy Adamas-like bass with a crisp mid-to-high range, creating a unique, deep sound that can only be experienced with this model! As it was released as a raw acoustic model, it has a longer sustain than regular Adamas and has a good sense of box resonance. Around 2002, smooth-top Adamas were also released, and the way the carbon graphite is woven on this top is different from that of the Super Adamas, so I think the top is even thinner than that of regular Adamas. Although it has a unique sound unique to the carbon top, the sound quality is good enough to be used as a raw acoustic guitar, so you can enjoy the unique and attractive sound that you can't get with other models, from flat picks to fingers! Since this model is an acoustic guitar, it does not have a pickup, but if you mount an L.R.Baggs pickup later, you can enjoy a full-fledged Adamas electric acoustic sound! The condition of the instrument is almost scratch-free and in excellent condition! There are no buckles or scratches that are common on the back of the body, and the body is almost undamaged. And since Adamas necks are no longer painted, the back of the neck inevitably becomes dark with use, but this one is in good condition with no darkening. The only thing I can find is a 1-2mm small scratch next to the 5th string peg post on the top of the head, where the tip of the string got caught, but I guess that's just a little bit of charm. The neck is in good condition and is beautifully straight, and the current string height is about 2.2mm on the 6th string side and 1.7mm on the 1st string side at the 12th fret, making it very easy to play. There are currently two shims under the saddle, so you can adjust the string height to your liking by removing or inserting the shims under the saddle. The frets are almost at 100% height, with only a few traces of strings on the low frets. There are probably many Adamas collectors, but I'm sure there aren't many who have a complete collection of this model. This is a very rare item that can be purchased at a very reasonable price for an Adamas, and you can fully enjoy the charm of the carbon top!
