Original, vintage Reja Sterling Signed Purple, Amythyst Arrow Brooch 1943

Description: Stunning Reja signed ArrowSterling Silver! A lovely vintage sterling silver vermeil arrow pin brooch that was featured in Women's Wear Daily on February 24, 1943. This piece was designed by Solomon Finkelstein for Reja in 1943. It is set with five open back rectangular faceted Amythyst color glass stones that taper at each end. The tail of the arrow is set with a row of 9 bright round rhinestones. The brooch measures 2.63, .88 of an inch wide and .5 of an inch deep. The back is stamped with the signature "REJA" and "STERLING" in block letters. This gold plated item has had some of the gold rubbed away on the back side. This version of the brooch has been documented in an Italian book on vintage costume jewelry and the photos of the pages shown in the last three phots including a translation of the author's description. Additionally, It is published in the book American Costume Jewelry by Carlo and Roberta Brunialti on page 208 in the red version. The hallmark appears on the reverse.
