Description: Exceedingly rare 1880s - 90's period cowboy boots, 15 tall including heel, stitched with fancy designs, one piece front and back, black in color. About a size medium. Condition is excellent for 145 year old pair of cowboy boots. Note... this boot has the true western style upper scalloped edge of shaft instead of the straight cut top. These boots were made using rough-out leather typical of early boots. A rare feature is the boots were made with essentially two pieces of leather, one for the front one for the back all the way to the top. One of the Mule-Ear Straps, pictured, has a crack at the bend, but is still strong and essentially insignificant except one should be careful. Could be easily reinforce with a strip of light leather underneath the break. This is the only pair of Mule-Ear boots that are period and original in my 50 years of collecting.
