Description: Handsome original antique color lithographed 1902 map of the World on Mercator's Projection, with decorative piano-key border, printed more than 120 years ago. The image area measures 26.6 x 38 cm [10½" x 15"], and the map was engraved by the Matthews-Northrup Company. A color key identifies the major countries and their colonies,and the map shows steamship routes, submarine telegraph cables, principal railroads, ocean currents, and "the fastest route around the world (64 days)." This is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. It was published by the Century Company of New York and is dated 1902 in the legend. This map would make a very impressive display in your den or office. Condition: It is in very good condition, bright and clean, with a vertical center fold, as issued, and no marks or writing.
