It was published by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co. of Philadelphia, PA. Most of the maps have along the bottom, “Entered according to auto of Congress in the year 1850 by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co. in the Clerk’s office of the District court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania”. The last 2 photos are of the title page of the Atlas. You will NOT get that page. Just the map described. I am breaking up this wonderful New Universal Atlas of the World as it was falling apart when I got it. This neat 14” by 17” (outside dimensions) of Canada West Formerly Upper Canada is hand colored. The back is blank. Each of the maps I am selling could have some stains, tears, holes in one edge from the binding, and/or general wear. It will be shipped to you in a triangular mailing “tube”.
