This 50th anniversary timepiece has been sold out at Omega Boutiques for years and the only way to get one now is on the 2nd hand market with NoVA Watch Supply offering this specific example as not only a full set but also including both nylon strap and stainless bracelet, as well as a special 50th anniversary Omega Moonwatch pin. This limited-edition timepiece pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970, in recognition of the brand’s contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission. And while the colorway of the watch and silver snoopy medallion on the second-hand subdial are enough to make any watch collector a fan, its truly the caseback that wins the hearts of all that have the opportunity to set eyes on this piece. The casing itself is free of any major markings, but there are some swirl marks through the polished sections and 2 light hairlines on the brushed area of the case, opposite side of the crown. The exhibition case back crystal is very clean so its easy to see snoopy orbit the moon when the chronograph is running. The blue textile strap does show signs of use as there is visible wear on the flat edges at the lugs where the strap meets the case, but overall the strap is in good condition. The clasp shows signs of use but is in very good condition with only some light hairlines through the polished section. The watch also comes with bracelet, which appears unworn.
