Description: This listing is for shiny new replacement rubber feet for the super cool Olivetti Lettera 35 Typewriter, originally made in Spain for Olivetti in the 1970's. While the color scheme for these machines may be a bit drab, the design for this machine was by the exalted Mario Bellini, who received a patent for this striking art form that is the case of this machine. They are built like a tank! And, essentially, are a Lettera 32 inside, I had a blast making this kit and discovering how much I love this machine. The parts fit together with extreme simplicity and elegance, just two screws hidden under the ribbon cover holding the two halves of the shell together, and affording access to the internals to work on. I love it!You can choose from two options in this listing:One set of 4 replacement typewriter feetThe full kit, the works!4 replacement typewriter feet 4 replacement case bushings2 ribbon cover bushings2 ribbon cover tension bushingsThese are my names for the kit pieces, describing their function, I don't have a service manual for the correct names. For a fully rattle-proof Lettera 35 whose ribbon cover stays firmly in place, you need this entire kit! I've tried to provide instructional help in some of the photo diagrams, please study them carefully. As to the "ribbon cover tension bushings", I originally thought this was only on the right side--turns out my left one was missing. BOTH must be installed or the ribbon cover cannot function properly! I left my original right one on, which the photos show. On the ribbon cover bushings---these were tricky buggers! And slightly scary to install, but easy. Install from the top, push the thin part through the correct hole and push it in--hold it there with your fingers. Get comfy with the cover in your lap, such that you can hold the bushing in place with one hand, and grip the other side with a needle nose pliers. ** Take care, you can break this piece off, which will complicate matters ** While pushing with your thumb from top, and grabbing with the pliers as high as you can get from the bottom, wiggle left and right with the pliers while gently pulling, and it should just pop through, latching into place. One more thing--I know there are folks out there painting these machines. I'm a traditionalist myself, but can't argue that these look incredible painted. If you have one of these, and want to try to match the foot color, please message me, we can try to do that! I designed these to be nearly an identical replacement, but with the advantages of modern 3D printing technology we can engineer materials that were previously impossible. I printed with NinjaFlex TPU polymer (https://ninjatek.com/ninjaflex/), which is very strong (but a knife or scissors will cut it, just like rubber!), flexible, and pretty gripping on most surfaces. They are printed in Midnight Black (see photos). Some people may prefer the original dull rubber look (and those are also likely being made and sold), but I actually think these are a superior look to rubber, and the textured lustrous finish perfectly matches the rest of the machine. I also think these will last far longer than natural rubber without compressing or falling apart. Whatever you do, don't consider generic "TPU", which is typically 95A Shore hardness and will not grip at all. Please ignore other's marketing claims that 3D printed feet have no grip, or that their feet are more "professional", or babble ignorantly about "shore hardness". Look at my reviews, these are beautiful and amazing typewriter feet being bought by collectors and dealers alike, I'm regularly told my feet are the best. I designed these for my own typewriter as shown, and this is an ongoing experiment to see if it's worth my time to make some more for the community. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ORIGINAL HARDWARE TO INSTALL THESE, THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED. PS: Ebay's volume discount display is a bit confusing, each purchase is a SET OF FOUR feet or one Kit, so picking "1" is one set of 4; "2" is 2 sets of 4 (8), etc. You get one set as described only, everything else pictured such as typewriter, tools, and metal hardware is NOT INCLUDED (you need to save your original hardware!).
